What is CGMacros?
CGMacros is a groundbreaking dataset designed to help researchers study personalized nutrition and diet monitoring. It contains data from 45 volunteers, including data from continuous glucose monitor (CGM) readings, food macronutrient details, meal photos, and physical activity logs. The participants included healthy individuals, those with pre-diabetes, and individuals with type 2 diabetes. How Was the Data Collected?
Participants wore two CGMs, a Fitbit smartwatch, and logged their meals using a mobile app. They consumed controlled breakfasts and lunches (i.e., where the macronutrient content was known), while dinners were of their own choosing. Blood tests and gut microbiome samples were also collected at the beginning of the study. Over ten days, participants documented their meals through photos and nutrition logs. The dataset also includes timestamps, glucose responses, and detailed health metrics to help researchers analyze the impact of food on blood sugar levels.
